Musica Petropolitana

chamber ensemble
(St. Petersburg, Russia)

One of the first professional Russian music ensembles specializing in baroque music, the award-winning Musica Petropolitana performs music from the 17th and 18th centuries on period instruments. The group was formed in 1986 out of interests in rediscovering and performing music from the "Golden Age" of St. Petersburg. Since then, the ensemble has toured in England, Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Denmark and Israel, and has appeared on BBC-3 (London), NDR-3 (Hamburg) and WDR-3 (Köln).
