About the Central Asian Collection

We introduced this category with a collection of song by Ensemble "Yalla," the most popular and famous pop group to come out of Central Asia. Mixing western pop with distinctive ethnic sounds and instruments -- and performing in the colorful traditional robes of the region -- Yalla and its music is recognized throughout Central Asia, the Near East and the former Soviet Union.

Central Asian music draws heavily from influences in the Arabic world, China and India as well as Europe. We plan to bring you other artists from this region in the future.
